Introduction Acts 26:13-21
The greatest killer of destiny is vision. Just what role does having vision play in every singer believer's life? It is the difference between walking on water and crying for help when we begin to sink. Vision cause many to stumble on their journey on earth. We must see the vision that God has given us as believers to determine how well we will fair in the calling of God.
1. Vision of Repentance (Acts 26:13-21)
· In our text we see Paul stand before the King to give an account for the riot Paul was involved in
· Explain Paul's life as a religious leader, expound
· Paul like all was bound to the lies of the devil,
I. Deception come in many ways from outward evil to religious zealots
ii. All believe that their way is a good choice and see not their sins
iii. (2 John 6-11) God warns of the deceivers come to the land
iv. It takes a visitation of Truth to deliver one from Satan
v. This is what being Born Again means, you experience a heavenly vision (visitation)
vi. A believer, that actually is living right, expound
· It will not always be as dramatic as Paul's vision but will change your life like Paul
· Conversion is a supernatural experience, if you just got religion you missed God
· The Church of today have missed this point, they are happy with traditions and half hearted commitment, Easter, Christmas you get it
· Vision is no longer part of his Gospel, so many tend to believe
· You name the name of Christ, have the walk and the talk but do you live in vision like Paul
* Perhaps it is too radical of a life style for your style?
2. Jesus Vision (Luke. 24:36-53)
· God chooses to reveal himself to his church as seen after the crucifixion
· His vision is a church that understands what he has done for mankind, (vs. 45)
· His will for us is an open book for all to see, the vision has been revealed
- True Christianity understands about salvation and witnessing
- God's desire is for all nations eyes to be open to his word and will on earth
- (James 4:2-3) You miss God because of your lust and failure to ask for his will
- Does your church understand this, the disciples were with Jesus and didn't, why?
- Just being saved does not mean your in tune with God, you see it takes vision
- Some call it conviction, burden, compassion and love
- (Matt 9:9-12) Jesus vision those that are sick, he sat with them
- God will always find the time to minister to sinners, will you
3. The Result of a Visionless Church (Proverbs 29:18)
· My people perish, because the church, you and I have no vision
i. We see El Paso and just see freeways and buildings but failed to see the oppressed
We need to understand that what God values is salvation and consecration
(John 4: 32-38) Jesus address the church waiting for revival, open your eyes
Many churches of today are waiting for the move of God, his reply it's all around you
The problem is the church, lack of vision, while sinners perish
Jesus was always being sought by the multitudes this has not changed (Matt 9: 35-38)
We are his representatives
Have you considered what the fate of El Paso be if you do nothing, lack of vision
What can I do Pastor?, you can do something, can't you
· The Devils wants you to be content with your spiritual condition, lay back dude
i. If he can't get you to backslide, he wants you to relax
ii. Satan doesn't want others to find this truth, (Romans 10:5-12)
· Let's face it if you don't speak out who will, that's not fair, why me
· Because you are his vessel to reach the world, you and you alone
13 At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me.
14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
15 And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.
16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;
17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,
18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
19 Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:
20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.
21 For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and went about to kill me.
2 John 6-11
6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.
7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
36 And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
37 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
40 And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.
41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?
42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.
43 And he took it, and did eat before them.
44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48 And ye are witnesses of these things.
49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
50 And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.
51 And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.
52 And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:
53 And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.
2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
9 And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.
10 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.
11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?
12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.
18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
32 But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.
33 Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?
34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.
37 And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.
38 I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.
35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;
38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)
7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him
